Prof. Valéria Borges has bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1995), master’s degree (1998) and doctorate degree (2002) from Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics, UFRJ and postdoctoral degree in the Program of Cell Biology of the National Jewish Medical and Research Center (Colorado, USA) as a fellowship of the Pew Latin American Fellows Program in the Biomedical Sciences (2003). She is a researcher at Gonçalo Moniz Institute and a permanent professor and member of the Graduate Program in Human and Experimental Pathology (PGPAT), where she has been working in Parasitology and inflammation biology with emphasis on vector- Host cell infection in Leishmania sp.
